Indonesia Yacht Charter - Best Sailing Weather

When the best time to sail in Indonesia?

Indonesia is renown having Thousand Islands and so rich with culture diversity melted together. Indonesian Islands are spread out from Sabang to Merauke, from West to East of Indonesian Khatulistiwa.  Sabang is in the West-end of Indonesia, as part of Sumatra Island, and particularly Sabah is in Aceh province.  Merauke is in the East-end of Indonesia, it is part of West Papua province.

Indonesia ocean is surrounded by North Pacific Ocean which is exposed to the East part of Indonesia such as Northern of Maluku and West Papua such as Northern Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay, Indian Ocean which is exposed to South Sumatra Island and West Java Island, South China Sea which is exposed more into Borneo or Kalimantan, South Pacific Ocean which is exposed more into Southern Maluku where Banda Sea is. When the best sailing in Indonesia mostly depends on the wind-shift of monsoon season.

Generally Monsoon seasons in Indonesia is elaborated  into wet season and dry seasons and yet the wind-directions are really affected by those massive open oceans surrounded. During wet season in some part of Indonesian Islands will generate strong wind and heavy rain that cause rough sea to sail, and otherwise, at the other part of the Islands will have calm sea with nice good wind to sail during the season.

Wet season in Indonesia doesn’t mean it is not the good time to sail in all  Indonesia waters and vice versa, that in dry season doesn’t mean it is the best time to sail in Indonesia.  It is more into the -shift of monsoon season. For example, in West Papua water it is very rough sea, mostly from middle June to end of September, and during that period of time, it is nice to sail in Bali water.  Indonesia is all year round to visit.
